Chinese and international students paid a visit to Jiangxi Art Museum on Nov 25, to explore the artistic heritage in Jiangxi and gain a deeper understanding of Chinese culture.
Students were fascinated by local ink paintings, Dunhuang-inspired artworks, modern red-themed oil paintings, and the history of Bayi Square. When they discussed and learned more about the stories behind those artworks and techniques used by local artists, students gained a clearer understanding of the fine arts in Jiangxi and its connection with China’s revolutionary history.
Many said the experience allowed them to encounter Chinese culture in a more vivid way beyond textbooks and helped them better appreciate how art tells China’s stories.
The activity is part of ongoing JUWP “Discover Jiangxi” initiative, which encourages international students to explore local culture and deepen their understanding of Jiangxi while studying in China. (By CHEN CHONG, ZOU YUJIE and XU TAO)
